Asked often, answered plainly

Questions we hear at the door

The honest answers, written the way we would say them at the host stand. Anything else, the phone is answered by a person from 10am.

Do I need a reservation?

For the dining room, we recommend one, especially Friday and Saturday. The bar seats twelve and keeps a handful of tables for walk-ins every night, full menu served. Brunch is walk-in friendly except for parties of six or more.

Is there a dress code?

No. People tend to dress a little for the room, but you will be as welcome in hiking boots as in a jacket. This is Asheville; half our best regulars arrive straight off the trail.

What is the corkage policy?

You may bring up to two bottles at 25 dollars each (illustrative), and we waive one corkage for every bottle you buy from our list. If you bring something interesting, expect Cal to appear at your table with two glasses and questions.

Can the kitchen handle dietary restrictions?

Yes, happily, with notice. Vegetarian is easy any night, and the cast-iron cauliflower is nobody's consolation prize. For allergies, celiac, or fully plant-based menus, note it on your reservation and the kitchen will plan rather than improvise.

Are children welcome?

Yes. We have high chairs, the kitchen will do a simple pasta or half chicken for small people, and brunch is the easiest service for young families. The Cellar and the 8pm dining room skew adult, and we will steer you honestly.

Where do I park?

Street parking on Currant and Vine is metered until 8pm, and the Wall Street public deck is a four-minute walk. If someone in your party has limited mobility, call us and we will hold the closest spot we can manage.

Can I bring my dog?

On the porch garden, absolutely, water bowl provided. Inside the dining room, service animals only.

How do large parties work?

Seven or more moves to our private dining team, which is a nicer version of the same evening: the Porch Room seats up to 24 and the Cellar seats 14 at one table. Send the date and the headcount through the private dining page and Sam will reply within a day.

What is the cancellation policy?

Plans change; tell us by 4pm the day before and there is no charge. Parties of five or more hold with a card and a 25 dollar per-person fee (illustrative) applies inside 24 hours, because we say no to other tables to hold yours.

Are you hiring?

Almost always, in the kitchen and on the floor. We hire for warmth and teach the rest. Write to hello@ploverandpine.example with a few lines about yourself; a resume is welcome but a good letter matters more.
