The corner of Currant and Vine

A seed store until 1991.
A restaurant with windows since 2019.

Plover & Pine is a chef-driven bistro in a 1931 corner storefront that spent sixty years selling seed and feed to the farms we now buy dinner from. Chef Etta Boone writes the menu weekly around what those farms bring down the mountain; wine director Cal Marsh pours growers he can call by first name.

The room faces west and south through twelve-foot windows, which is not an accident. From half past five the light comes around the corner and stays through dessert. Come at 5:30 once and you will understand the name of the hour on the door.

Nina and Gus Harrow grow the sour cherries in our chess pie and the apples in the stack cake. We drove up before service to walk the rows and talk about what August will taste like.

A Plover & Pine gift card is a very good way to tell someone to leave the house. Any amount, no expiry, works at the bar too.
