Where we work
Lexington, and the county around it.
The studio works within about forty minutes of Old Stone Pike, because gardens in our stewardship program are visited on a calendar, not a promise. Two of our neighborhoods, profiled properly.
Keeneland Downs
Rolling horse-farm country west of Lexington: limestone slopes, old dry-stone walls, and long views that a garden must frame rather than fight.
Gardens in Keeneland DownsAshgrove
Newer acreage east of town: level ground, open sun, and blank-slate properties where structure, screening, and shade must be built from nothing.
Gardens in AshgroveAlso at work in
Squire Oak · Millpond · Old Frankfort Bend · Bryardstown · Walnut Bottom · Delaney Mill · and the farms and lanes between them. If your property is within the Bluegrass and the project deserves a drawing, the walk is worth arranging either way.
Begin with a walk in the garden.
The first meeting is a morning on your property: no drawings, no obligation, just an honest read of the ground and how you want to live on it.
