Questions
Everything you might be wondering
Honest answers about how we work, what we do and do not do, and how to get started.
Are you registered dietitians or medical providers?
Fernwell offers nutrition and wellness coaching. Our coaches hold nutrition-coaching certifications and, where noted, graduate degrees. We do not diagnose, treat, or provide medical or clinical nutrition therapy. For medical conditions, we coordinate with, and defer to, your physician or a registered dietitian.
Do you offer meal plans or count calories?
We focus on habits, balanced plates, and food you enjoy rather than rigid meal plans or calorie counting. If a light structure helps you, we can build a flexible one together, always with room to adapt to real life.
Can we meet online, or is it in person only?
Both. Coaching sessions are available in person at our Boulder studio or by secure video, whichever fits your week. Many clients mix the two.
How long are the programs?
Most programs run eight to twelve weeks, with sessions every one to two weeks plus messaging support in between. 1:1 coaching can continue for as long as it is useful to you.
I have dietary restrictions or allergies. Can you work with those?
Absolutely. We tailor everything to your preferences, restrictions, and any guidance from your care team. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-aware approaches are all welcome.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a relaxed, ninety-minute intake. We get to know your goals, your history, your schedule, and your kitchen, then map out a starting plan together. No pressure and no judgment.
Do you take insurance?
Our coaching is offered on a private-pay basis and is not billed to insurance. Pricing is transparent and listed on our membership page.
