IPL Photofacial
Broad-spectrum light for the two things Texas gives every face: sun spots and redness. The clean-up treatment for skin that reads five years older than it is.
The treatment, plainly.
IPL, intense pulsed light, treats color rather than texture: the brown of accumulated sun damage and the red of broken capillaries and flushing. Pigment absorbs the light, lifts to the surface as coffee-ground flecks, and sheds within a week, leaving tone visibly more even.
It is the treatment we recommend most often at first consults in this city, because sun is the dominant author of Dallas skin. Most plans run two to three sessions a month apart, then a single annual maintenance pass.
Consider it for
- Sun spots and freckling across the face, chest, and hands
- Redness, flushing, and visible capillaries
- Blotchy, uneven tone that makeup will not fully unify
- Post-summer recovery once tans have fully faded
How it unfolds.
Color mapping
We photograph under cross-polarized light to see the pigment below the surface, then set the plan by what the camera shows, not just the mirror.
The session
Cool gel, a series of bright flashes with a snapping sensation, thirty minutes for a full face. Eyes stay shielded throughout.
The shed
Treated spots darken for three to seven days, then flake away. Redness responses calm progressively across the series.
Spots look darker before they look gone; plan a week of runway before events. Strict sun avoidance before and after treatment is required, which is why IPL season in Texas is October through April. Tone improvements compound across the series.
The cross-polarized photo is the honest mirror. We treat what it shows and re-photograph until the two images agree.
